Making a living - CYOA part 17

Part 17: “Yeah, I'm in,” you tell Chris. “Cool, I'll send Elf a message asking her if she wants to come with us. What's your personal monitor frequency?” Chris asks. “I've not got a personal monitor device.” “Wow, I thought everyone had one of those these days. Here, I've got a spare.” Chris chucks you what looks like a large digital watch with an inbuilt microphone and an earpiece. “How does it work?” you ask as you put the earpiece in. “Strap the device on your wrist. I'm afraid it's the old version so when you send someone a message you have to talk into the mic on the wrist strap. The new versions send your thoughts so you only have to plug in the frequency you want it sent to. Everything else you need is walked through on the little screen.” “Ok. Thanks.” “Don't mention it. I'll meet you back here in an hour, hopefully with Elf, and we'll head up to Rocktropia,” Chris says. He then waves and runs off before you can reply. You head back to your room at Zychion to put everything you might need into your pack and grab a few changes of clothes. While you are there you empty out the remaining food in the fridge and turn it off. By the time you will get back anything left there would be growing mould. As you head back towards the teleporter you quickly head into the bar and ask the barman to watch your place. He reluctantly agrees to keep an eye on it so you carry on to the teleporter and on to Twin Peaks. You are early and have to wait around listening to the tradesmen bartering until Elf shows up. You wave to her as she materialises nearby. She is wearing her long coat again and carrying a very large luggage case. “Chris said he had another job for me and to pack my bags and meet him here. Do you know what he is up to?” Elf asks obviously not that bothered about Chris assuming she would say yes. “We are going to Rocktropia for a while,” you explain as you hug her. “You and me?” “Yeah, though Chris is coming too. There is a healing job for the three of us.” “Cool.” While you wait for Chris to appear you explain the details you know so far to Elf. Not long after you finish Chris finally arrives. He claps both of you on the back, seemingly oblivious to being late. “Right then, are you two love-birds ready to go do some work?” Elf thumps Chris who just laughs. The three of you then plug your bank cards into the long-range teleporter and pay the fees to go to Rocktropia. You have arranged to meet your employers at City of Dreams and they are already there when you arrive. The three hunters shake your hands and introduce themselves as Paul, Alex and Steve. Your employers then take you to the apartment they are renting for you and give all of you the money for teleporting there. They give the three of you an hour to get settled in and arrange to meet you back at the centre of the city to talk about your new job. The apartment has three separate rooms. Elf quickly reserves the largest one with an en-suite bathroom leaving you and Chris to the two smaller rooms. You don't complain, assuming that you are likely to end up sharing with her anyway. Both Chris and Elf take longer than you to unpack as you only brought a few garments of clothing and your normal gear, most of which you keep in your pack in case you need it. While you are waiting for Elf you lean against the door frame of her bedroom. She doesn't notice you at first and then jumps when she sees you. You laugh as she throws the shampoo bottle she almost dropped at you. You take the bottle to her bathroom for her and have a look around it at the same time. It's significantly nicer than the bathroom you have to share with Chris and has both a bath and shower where as yours only has a shower. You then watch Elf as she carries on unpacking. Elf is just finishing off the last of the unpacking as Chris comes into the room. “All done guys?” he asks you. “Almost,” Elf replies. “Fabulous. I'm going to go check the area out. Catch up when you are done.” Chris then wanders off. Elf laughs once the apartment door has shut behind him. “He's very impatient. We had better follow him or he will get lost and knowing him he won't want to be late. He will want to be the first to get to work,” Elf explains. You follow Elf out and soon catch up with Chris. You then spend the rest of your hour exploring the city and watching the vehicles race around the city's roads. Before you know it your employers are there and explaining the job. Each of you are paired up with a hunter. You are paired with Alex, Elf is teamed with Paul and Chris with Steve. As Elf predicted Chris asks if he can go first and Elf is asked to go second. You will all swap at eight hour intervals and meet your hunter ten minutes before your shift is due to start at the city's teleporter. Before you can ask what you will be hunting Chris and the hunters all say goodbye and leave you alone with Elf. “So what shall we do with the next eight hours?” Elf asks you. What do you do? Please choose an option from the poll which will be open 1 week from the date of this post. Your character description, inventory, skills and previous parts of the story can be found here Thank you to Mix Bonesinger for letting me take some screenies of your car :)

News: Calypso Gateway

Navigating a strange environment is one thing, but expand that to an entire planet, and the potential for confusion and possible frustration may increase. Planet Calypso has gone through some growing pains over the years, and has certainly learned through trial and error what does and does not work. While there is still a learning curve for new players, many feel that First Planet Company is headed in the right direction with its latest offering. On June 24, 2010, First Planet Company’s CEO Marco Behrmann announced the addition of the Calypso Gateway, which is the entry point for all new colonists arriving on Planet Calypso. Over the years, several other cities have played host as entry points, but Port Atlantis has always been the premiere beginning point for many, and a location to start the educational process of all that is Calypso. Well, that has changed, and the Calypso Gateway is now the open portal that welcomes new colonists to a secluded island. The island is a training ground and first contact with what will lead them through a series of missions (quests), and an introduction to hunting, mining, and crafting prior to becoming fully engaged with current Calypso residents. Colonists will be given equipment to assist in their learning process, and will gain knowledge about Calypso and the Real Cash Economy, while also learning about basic features and how they work. The sweating function is also available on the newbie training island, but I didn't see any specific instructions as to how it works other than reading the information off the equipment that pulls the sweat from creatures. The Calypso Gateway is unique in that it offers a far less distracting environment away from the hustle and bustle and elements of potential stress that may include things like busy traders and chat message spam, as well as perhaps some strange terminology, according to Marco. He adds that, "… newcomers get a chance to interact and learn" and "… all within a calm environment." This is all accomplished as a result of the Calypso Gateway being off-limits to other colonists, and once a new colonist takes the one-way teleporter to mainland Calypso, there is no going back. However, prior to the full implementation of this new training island, all colonists of Calypso will be given an opportunity to experience the Calypso Gateway for approximately one week, which began on June 30th. Since I am one of those who feel that this is a great move on FPC’s part, I made an effort to go bare bones to the Gateway and have the experience as a fresh new colonist myself, which was rather difficult to do given my skills and current knowledge of Planet Calypso, but vital for the overall experience. I had opportunity to communicate with our Community Director Hanne prior to taking on this mission and she said that since I am a professor (teacher) in real life, "It'd be cool to see how you'd do as a student in this setting, even if you already know the information." Well Hanne, here are the results. ARRIVAL AT CALYPSO GATEWAY Upon arrival, I immediately noticed a very modern and quite appealing environment, but then I also noticed that there were no signs to guide me to what I should do next. For those who are new to these types of environments (each virtual environment being unique), this addition would help facilitate navigation of the training experience. Perhaps at minimum, adding tutorials for learning avatar movement, how to chat, and keyboard mapping could be considered. Since the environment is so clean, crisp, and inviting, my suggestion would be to have an NPC near the arrival/departure teleporter with a minimal sign above saying Start Here. This would be where the new arrivals could learn the basics mentioned above, and also a final message as to where to go next to continue the learning process. The arrival/departure teleporter is on the second floor, which appears to be the main hub of where activities begin, and where colonists hang out. I decided to explore a bit before taking on the missions and found a lounge that operates the clock around. I know this because the perfectly-toned and enunciated public announcements by the female voice told us so. This is quite a nice feature, and I didn’t find it annoying at all, but the announcer needs to learn that the televator doesn’t go to a fifth floor where someone apparently left something they weren’t supposed to … there is no fifth floor … at least not at the moment. The announcements were rather humorous at times, so it was more entertaining than it was a distraction. Looks like the newbies got the hard stuff … maybe the Beer is still on its way to Calypso. Just what we need, buzzed newbies ready to take on the jungle. Wait till they discover that those vehicles they see on the second floor are available on the mainland, but then … there are no laws in the jungle for drinking and driving, and plenty of penalties if you disturb the locals … I think you know what I mean. As I continued my tour, I discovered the mining and manufacturing office officials, which is the starting point that begins your missions. There are multiple immigration papers and receipts to sign before being given your official documents to continue and receive the missions. It’s actually quite comical, and I like the added humor injected in the dialogue. There is a televator centrally located on the second floor that takes you between floors one and two (you can see it in the background of the above photo), and on the other side of the televator is the hunting office official where once again you get (and sign) proper papers in order to receive your missions. These are two definite first stops to help facilitate a smoother experience. However, while you’re in the neighborhood, you might want to stop in the Lounge and toss one back with veteran Carstein Sand. He will chat your ear off, but will give you a nice collection of Calypso history, and if you choose the right dialogue path, you can end up with 3k of ammo, otherwise only 2k I believe. Next stop was visiting Dr. Melinda Clark, who is the individual you will want to see if you run into a glitch with your crafting missions. Tips and helpful information was given quite frequently in chat by individuals like Mark Rufen Power of –TAO- and Blaze from NBK. These tips were a result of discovering a few glitches along the way where some ran out of ammo, or a weapon broke, or didn’t have enough materials to complete a quest. Rufen was collecting unused items from those who had finished everything and gave them to those who had not. You can find a more comprehensive guide to doing the missions that he put together here, along with a Gateway missions reward guide here compiled by Mekoides Tux Deathbringer from Pyrates of Calypso. (gotta love the sign) It seems that the Calypso Gateway corridor and outer platform (for now) are for show, but give indication that new colonists appear to arrive from the spacecraft and are greeted with a Welcome to Calypso Gateway at the corridor entrance to the inner part of the facility. As mentioned earlier, the arrival/departure teleporter is inside. However, there is also a nice elevated deck on the outer Gateway platform to view the surrounding landscape, along with sunrises, sunsets, and moon rises. The deck view of the lagoon is especially striking and rather inviting. It was now time to visit the mission NPC’s. On either side of the arrival/departure teleporter is an exit that leads down stairs to a lower level where the mining and crafting missions are received. This is where a bit of confusion may come in if you don’t visit the office officials on the second floor first to get all documented papers that allow you to do the missions. However, in all fairness, I believe there is dialogue that redirects a person to the officials in order to get the papers first. While exploring the second floor, I was privey to the tips and helpful hints in chat that forewarned me (thank you), so it made it a smoother experience. The exit doorways to the mining and crafting mission NPC’s are close to the arrival area, so people may be inclined to explore in that direction first, which is why a Start Here NPC near the teleporter would be a most efficient addition for basics and direction. The hunting missions NPC can be accessed by taking the televator from the second to the first floor. It is my understanding that the mission areas related to hunting, mining, and crafting are through the exit at each respective location. Also, there is a revival terminal just outside each exit as well. I did run into an interesting fellow (NPC) at one of the exits that has no general purpose other than to complain about the bugs? Not sure whether he was referring to the local creatures, or … well, you know. Another interesting character I ran into near the televator was an FPC Pioneer official who briefly answered a few questions posed by the locals. However, I couldn’t help but be surprised at his altered official fashion. My (silent) question was … does FPC not inspire fashion sense prior to venturing off to face the colonists? So faux paux, but it was amusing. He was cordial enough, but wasn’t with us that long. He had to go do a post mortem release evaluation I think he said, so perhaps they are soaking up our feedback and we will see those much needed tweaks to make the experience more efficient. ON A CLOSING NOTE The overall experience was quite nice, and the environment and aesthetics are quite appealing indeed. Personally I feel that this is a step in the right direction for FPC, and I believe we are all hopeful that they will take note of our feedback as veterans, and any newbies that happened to have gone through the Calypso Gateway during open viewing, and prior to official operation. I think the true test will come when veterans are not available to assist and give guidance. It was an effort to step outside the box and pretend I had no knowledge of the inner workings of our planet, but the effort was worth it, because it brought to light those things that need attention to make the experience more efficient for new arrivals. Sometimes I think we're too close to it all, and don't see it through the experiences of a brand spankin' new colonist. I think one other question that comes to mind in all of this however, is how will the new arrivals learn about our Real Cash Economy? I didn't see anything that addressed this, unless I overlooked it. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to include in the proposed Start Here NPC function some resources for where they can find more specific information, like forums and other sites ... just a suggestion. I know there are various views from experiencing the Calypso Gateway, and the feedback has been plentiful. This is only my personal view, and while I did have some of the same challenges that others did, they were minimal as a result of those who had gone before me and shared their experiences. I just can’t say enough about how this community steps up to help each other, and for me, that’s what it’s all about … continuing to forge and build a frontier that is more conducive to our needs, but that has to include the developers as well. However, I'm very impressed with this latest addition, and I can see it growing into a very viable first step toward integrating with the rest of us on Planet Calypso. Perhaps some sort of mentoring system in the future may be available to complement the transition. However, I can foresee that if the Calypso Gateway experience does encompass comprehensive basic training, then perhaps being taken under the wings of a society could facilitate further understanding and growth without need for an official mentoring system. The key is to retain our new residents for future growth, and maybe with this latest endeavor, we'll see more of a partnership from both sides of the virtual fence going forward. The architecture and interior of the Calypso Gateway is beautiful, but I will leave you with this question … how many of you think that we might have a specifically-focused coder out there? The following is a bit of a tour of the Calypso Gateway … enjoy! YouTube Video ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed. Hugs and thanks to my graphics guru Baradur who I caught in the Lounge (probably tossing a few back with Carstein). He designed the graphics header for this article and I am always grateful for the assist. .

Squatters Unite!

Have you ever had the desire to just stay in one place for a while? Every slept on someone else’ couch for days on end? You know, staying someplace that technically doesn’t belong to you and is either abandoned or unsold… If you have, you’re a Squatter. If you’re not sure what “squatting” means, well here is a helpful little definition from Wikipedia: Squatting consists of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied space or building, usually residential, that the squatter does not own, rent or otherwise have permission to use. According to author Robert Neuwirth, there are one billion squatters globally, that is, about one in every six people on the planet. Yet, according to Kesia Reeve, “squatting is largely absent from policy and academic debate and is rarely conceptualized, as a problem, as a symptom, or as a social or housing movement.” Why I am posting this? Because this is going to be our next competition! In order to enter, all you have to do is squat in one of the unoccupied buildings in New Harlem (the latest city to open on ROCKtropia as of 6/30/10). From now until the next major update take screenshots of yourself squatting in one of these spaces. Out of all the screenshots you take you can only submit ONE to the official competition topic at NEVERDIE.com HERE. You have until August 1st to submit your entry. On August 2nd 10 submissions will be selected by your ROCKtropian Crew and placed on NEVERDIE.com  and will be opened up to be voted on by the ROCKtropia public. The public voting will last for One week. Whoa! I almost forgot to mention what the prize for this will be… 500PED to the winner! Get out there and find your squatter’s paradise!

SHOW ME THE PED!

Due to the popularity of the First Global Hunting competition, we’ve decided to up the stakes of the competition! The prize for the highest Hunting Global on ROCKtropia has gone from 100PED to 1000PED! You only have until July 5th – so get out there!

He designed the graphics header for this article and I am always grateful for the assist. .

Ready Set Goooooo!

With news last week that there was going to be a car give away, many players were excited with the possibility of getting their very own car and even better getting it as a gift! June 21st was a long day for many waiting by tp's hoping to catch a glimpse of officals who would hand over virtual keys to a shiny new set of wheels! However, there wern't as many free cars to be given out as we all had hoped and that left many people a little disappointed that they wern't lucky enough to get a new car. The DJ's of Atlashavenradio got together and were talking about what could we do- if anything - to maybe let some people that hadn't gotten a car yet a chance to have some fun as well. We came up with the idea of having a car race for non car owners. With the system in place for being able to loan out your car with little risk to the car owner, we tracked down a race track that was mostly mob free (we had some horses wanting to race at one point ) and decided on the race track east of the New Switzerland tp. Friday night 00:00 MA time during fishface's radio show we wormholed people in from swamp camp and had a crowd of many others waiting at the starting point at the race. It was thrilling to see so many eager and mostly cheerful people waiting for a chance to drive a car, and even better race it against other people. We had 5 heats and the winners of each heat won 10 ped and a seat in the finals. For each round, racers were given access to a generous car owners car , and as they raced around the track, fishface gave commentary and car songs over the radio as entertainment. What no one knew, except for the AHR dj's was that there was going to be a secret grand prize. We didn't want anyone coming to the race in hopes of winning a cool item. So we advertised small prizes on purpose. When all the finalists were selected Fishface announced to the cheering crowd that the finalists would race around the track for 3 laps and the winner would walk away with a shiny new....GREEN car, donated by fishface himself. His very own car that he had recieved from an offical during the give away. The final race was intense. They were all neck in neck, with hardly a break in the line. No one knew who was clearly going to take the grand prize. We all waited anxiously watching the final 5 cars whizz by, 1, 2, and 3 times....when it was all over and the dust settled Adamer was the winner, with Parlog coming in a very close second. I lined up all the worthy finalists (Lydia, Rufen, Tamlin, Adamer, Parlog ) and congratulated them all on a job well done and gave them their 10 ped prize. I then sent the beaming Adamer over to Fishface so that he could collect his shiny new and very fitting greenmobile. One participant in the race Steve Saber has been quoted as saying that "This was the BEST EVENT EVER!!". others like Parlog have said, "This was so much fun! Adamer made a perfect race and i have hit a log in the way once , that gave him the 3m advantage to win this race. GRATZ Adamer! I was second, but I am happy!" It was an intense, great event with a surprise ending. It couldn't of been done though without the generous donations of car time by all the car owners that showed up to lend their cars. Entropia Universe is full of some great people and this event clearly showed that in play this past week.

Making a living - CYOA part 16

Part 16: “Hopefully soon,” you tell Elf. She smiles at you obviously pleased. She then runs to the centre of the teleporter. You stop Elf as she goes to leave and tell her the frequency of your home's message receiver. She plugs it into the device around her wrist. “I'll call you when my job's done.” Elf kisses you quickly and teleports away. You stand on the spot not sure what to do with yourself. Your job is done and you have been paid. A moment later you yawn and you realise you have been up over 24 hours and only had a brief nap in the cave with Elf. Shouldering your pack full of foul loot you head to your Zychion hiding place. Just like Elf you have found yourself a retreat, far from the Calypsian cities. Up on the crumbled road near the bar and revival terminal is a door that most people can't open. You have managed to hot wire it and have fashioned a rudimentary pin-coded lock. The room behind now serves as your bedroom, living room and kitchen. It's really not anything special but you cannot afford the apartments in tower blocks that are not falling apart and it is moderately more sheltered than sleeping under the sky. The idea of bringing Elf back here makes you grin as you drop your pack by the closing door and sit down on the mattress that is your bed. You often wake up to see rats scurrying for cover and have also had to brush away various insects and bugs from your clothes to put them on. While you are imagining her reaction to the place you absent-mindedly scrape mould from the nearby wall with your knife. When you snap back to reality you bunk down for some sleep and are soon adding your snores to the other ambient sounds at Zychion. Roughly ten hours pass before you wake up again feeling refreshed and ready for another day under the Calypsian sun. After shooing away the rat sniffing around your fridge you open it to find something to eat. There are a few caroots and nutrio bars. You grab a couple of the remaining nutrio bars and slam the fridge door shut. At some point you will have to go foraging again and kill a Daikiba for some more meat. Caroots, Daikiba meat and a few wild herbs were good ingredients for a stew that you can eat for a few days. As you munch your meagre breakfast you pick up your pack and check your gun is loaded. You then head through the Citadel to the teleporter. Twin Peaks is your destination. You hope to lighten your pack by selling the loot you got from the fouls and drone you killed. When you arrive you join the throng of sellers and advertise your items. You get off to a lucky start and someone approaches you to buy your hides and wools. Several minutes later a buyer appears wanting to buy foul bones and offering a reasonable markup. Unfortunately your luck runs out there and over an hour later you are thinking about giving up and coming back another day. Just before you do someone comes up to you and offers to buy your muscle oil and extractors. The only items you have left with any market value above two or three percent are your nova fragments and they are light weight and small enough that you do not mind keeping them in your pack. You then head to the nearest trash transfer stand where you can recycle the rest of your loot and get some more ammo for your gun. You also have your amp repaired up to full standard. While you are packing your ammo away Chris arrives in Twin Peaks. He immediately notices you and yells out your name before rushing over to you. You wave and smile, pleased to see him. “Jack, there you are. I've been looking for you,” he tells you enthusiastically. “You have?” “Yup. I've been invited on a job that is too much for me to handle on my own.” “What kind of job?” you ask, curious. “There are a few hunters that wish to between them hunt a particular monster on Rocktropia twenty-four-seven to gather some data. They want some healers for a while.” “Twenty-four-seven, that's insane.” “Well it would be if they were all hunting at the same time. They want to do it one at a time, taking it in turns. They would like three healers to do the same.” “Sounds good. What are they going to pay, how do they plan on getting the healers there and have you already got another healer?” “We are being teleported on the long range teleporters and they are going to pay the fees for us. They are also going to cover all other costs like refills for our first aid packs, food and shelter. The pay is going to be 1ped for each hour we work on top of all that. I was thinking of inviting Elf as our third when she has finished her job. So what do you say? You in?” What do you do? Issues with 2010.3 release

Vehicle solution for the Gateway As some of you have found out, the newcomer area Calypso Gateway that we released yesterday, was never built for vehicles. The lack of terminals, in particular a storage terminal, means that Vehicles lost on the Calypso Gateway cannot be recovered. Of course we don’t want you to lose your vehicles. MindArk will move all vehicles from Calypso Gateway to mainland Calypso storage approximately once per day. So remember to drive safely and to pick up your vehicle after use when visiting Calypso Gateway! Cayuze mission The Cayuze Mission to kill 200 creatures in the designated area is currently bugged. We’re aware of this and working on it. Not enough bombs/ammo, or equipment breaks too fast A lot of you experienced not having enough bombs or ammo, or that the rookie equipment broke down before finishing your missions on Calypso Gateway. We are working on a tweak for that, for when the newcomers start using the Gateway. Until then it is possible to finish missions using normal Calypso equipment (non-rookie versions). Remember to get your hunting and mining missions before heading out! Omegaton Representative He’s located on the first floor. There’s a televator in the middle of the main building you can use to change floors. We will change this to be more clearly marked.

Content Release 2010.3

PLANET CALYPSO CONTENT RELEASE 2010.3 2010-06-29 ***PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT IF YOU FIND SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY IN PLANET CALYPSO! IT MIGHT PROVIDE THE INFO YOU NEED BEFORE CONTACTING THE SUPPORT DEPARTMENT!*** CALYPSO GATEWAY The entrance to a world of opportunity and adventure Introducing Calypso Gateway, the new content release from First Planet Company features a new entry point to the Entropia experience. For many years, Calypso colonist newcomers have started their new life on the busy streets of Port Atlantis, left with nothing but their bare hands and an orange jumpsuit. They have had a world of possibility to explore, but often the experience has proven daunting or overpowering. We expect this addition to Calypso to change that. The Calypso Gateway is a secluded area consisting of an arrival terminal located on an island. After the avatar creation process, this will be the first point-of-contact with the game. Calypso Gateway features several introduction missions (“quests”), in which equipment is handed to the newly arrived to introduce him to the Colonist experience. Newcomers will be able to engage in hunting, mining and crafting, using the equipment given. The tutorial-like mission structure allow the newcomers to learn about Calypso, the Real Cash Economy model and the way the basic features work – all within a calm environment. The Gateway is a place where newcomers get at chance to interact and learn, without many of the distractions found elsewhere on Calypso, as the area is off-limits for all other colonists. Once you take the one-way teleporter to go to Port Atlantis on mainland Calypso you can never go back. Open house event For the veteran colonists who already have arrived and who wants to see this new area, FPC will host an open house event of Calypso Gateway for one week, allowing two-way teleportation to and from mainland Calypso. During this time, newcomers will still arrive at Port Atlantis. During the open house period, in order to get the full newcomer experience, we recommend that you put all your avatar gear in storage on mainland Calypso (there are no storage or TT:s on Gateway) and travel to the area and engage in the missions. Your feedback is also welcome and allows us to iron out potential bugs or tweak missions before the newcomers try them out. After the event, the Gateway will be updated, the newcomer starting point till be moved from Port Atlantis to Calypso Gateway and the teleporter will be made one-way-only. Any avatars present at the Gateway will be moved to mainland Calypso during this update. The reason for this is to allow newcomers to take their time and try out things without the stress of traders, chat message spam, a lot of strange terminology, etc. New colonists may leave Calypso Gateway for Port Atlantis at any time; they are is in no way required to stay and complete the quests, but may leave whenever they wish. NEW FEATURES More missions New mission features have been introduced to the Gateway. Also, the existing quests have been adjusted to work with the new features, including a new Mission Terminal feature in Fort Troy. In addition to that, there are five new Iron Challenges, and four of the old Iron Challenges have been expanded with Bronze Challenges. And it doesn’t even end there: there is also a mission chain at Cayuze. An old rivalry may appear again and with it, some not too obvious choices for participants. All in all, there are 45 brand new missions in this release! Improved creatures Berycled, Caudatergus and Tripudion have had an overhaul to provide a completely new audio-visual experience. They now look and sound a lot better! Race on! Two new race tracks have been added, one near Chug’s Hideout and one on the island west of Memorial Island. The area around the Oil Rig in PvP has had an overhaul to accommodate an arena with two forts for high-octane PvP vehicle combat. RESETTLEMENT UPDATE A mysterious shuttle has crashed into the ocean near Cayuze outpost. As the shuttle is unmarked and nobody has claimed the salvage rights, Ishido Salvage Operations bought the salvage rights. Contact Fujiko Takida near Cayuze outpost for details about the shuttle crash. Calypso Firearms Association expands the astounding success of the Iron Challenges. CFA is proud to announce the Bronze Challenge, four more challenges expanding on the most popular existing Iron Challenges. Five new Iron Challenges have also been issued, and on top of that, the acknowledged action movie star Stephan Wurmsteiger to host the Aurli challenge! FIXED ISSUES Furniture issues Fixed rotation of Hanging Bookcase Vegetation issues Fixed transparent tree texture Fixed blue giant trees Terrain issues Fixed flying objects Fixed some terrain hole issues Fixed terrain texture issues CND issues Fixed missing spawn points on CND Building issues Adjusted brightness in corridor at Emerald Lakes mall Fixed graphics glitch in service building in OLA27 Auction in Fort Fury again have light Miscellaneous issues Fixed missing texture of Large Bull Horns Fixed issues with names and descriptions of Amethera Outback Lands #05 and #09 Sweat Gun should no longer block view KNOWN ISSUES Instruction dialogue in Crafting 101 part 2 lacks explanation of where to put the blueprint End dialogue of Crafting 101 part 2 always assumes you succeed in crafting Crafting and Manufacturing Officials at the Hub are on the wrong side and not facing the entry corridor Dialogues in Understanding Hunting sometimes assume that the avatar is male. They should be gender-specific. If you talk to the Chikara representative after Crafting 101 part 2 is done, and your avatar is female, the dialogue is stuck on the first page. The Chikara representative doesn't have any more missions after part 2. In the mission Mining 101 lesson 2, the objective Get 3 Lysterium Stones is not marked as complete when you get the stones. He also sends you to dr Clark regardless of you getting the stones or not. SEE ALSO Platform release notes
